Christopher J. Rochford, DMD
Dr. Christopher Rochford, is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, and in January of 2019 he returned to Cape Atlantic OMS, after previously practicing with the group from 2012-2013. During the interim, Dr. Rochford practiced in both Long Island and New York City. He completed his undergraduate education at Rutgers University, where he served as a leader in various student organizations, including the prestigious Rutgers Cap & Skull Society. He then attended the New Jersey Dental School, where he served as the president of his class for three years and successfully earned his DMD degree. Dr. Rochford then completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at UMDNJ-University Hospital, regarded as a top tier OMS program. During his residency he was trained in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Rochford received extensive training in maxillofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, CT guided implant surgery, third molar surgery, anesthesia, management of head and neck infections, microsurgical nerve repair, maxillofacial pathology and reconstruction and minor facial cosmetic surgery. Although trained in the full scope of the specialty, Dr. Rochford’s current clinical interests, include CT guided implant surgery, bone grafting, sinus grafting and dentoalveolar surgery.
Dr. Rochford is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery; as well as Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. Dr. Rochford is a member of the New York State Society of OMS and is currently on staff at the Cape Regional Medical Center and is an active member of the Atlantic Cape May Dental Society.
In his spare time, he enjoys visiting New York City, exploring new restaurants, as well as competing in endurance sports. As a competitive triathlete, has been named a USAT All American for the last two years and is a multiple ironman finisher. Most recently he qualified for the 2020 Boston Marathon based on his 2018 NYC Marathon finish time.
